Many users struggled to fully utilize the product during their first week of interaction which led to higher churn rates as users failed to integrate the digital assistant into their daily routines.
Problem
User engagement with Google Assistant was hindered by a lack of intuitive onboarding, leading to frustration and disinterest among users, particularly Gen Z aged 18-24.
Identifying the barriers to user engagement and retention, particularly in the initial stages of using Google Assistant
Challenge
To develop innovative solutions that would seamlessly integrate the assistant into users' daily lives, thereby reducing churn and enhancing overall satisfaction.
An end-to-end research and design cycle was executed to create innovative product design solutions for Google Assistant
Solution
Our team conducted comprehensive user research to uncover key insights, which were translated into actionable themes and concepts. These informed the development of high-fidelity Figma prototypes, tailored to improve the onboarding experience for Gen Z users. The solution was further strengthened by a narrative pitch deck, vision video, and process book, effectively communicating our design vision to the Google team.
